This LVC 501 1966 is part of a wear-out project of Rotterdam Museum in the Netherlands. Seven inhabitants of Rotterdam were asked to wear daily this LVC 501 during their work. Every month a picture will be taken to show the different signs of wear. The professions: painter, harbour-worker, gardener, cyclist, fashion-designer, teacher (me).
I have worn mine 7 months daily without any wash or soak. Just hang outside, sometimes in foggy nights and 2 times in the fridge.
In the last month of this year 2012, all the 501´s are exposed in the museum between the worktrousers, overalls. The exposition ´Werkstijl´ is about the influence of simple workwear on daily fashion. And of course Levi´s jeans started its life also as a workpant.
